Welcome!
I am Ana Bedolla, a mixed-media and bookbinding artist born in Michoacán, Mexico, and currently based in Oakland, California. My work is rooted in the convergence of dreams, ancestral knowledge, and a deep curiosity about the natural world.
As a child, visits to my grandmother’s home sparked a deep fascination with insects. My experience as a vivid dreamer allows me to navigate and experience both realms—dreaming and waking—which continuously inform one another.
Through my dreams and conversations with the Purépecha elders in my community, I seek to understand the cultural and spiritual significance of dreaming, and then incorporate those insights into my art.
Insects from my grandmother’s garden that have served as a source of inspiration across various projects.
